DevlogHorses you ride, a moon at night, and water the realistic way
A day for riding and for the sky: mounts arrived, the night has a moon, and water and lava got a new look you can switch off. You can ride a horse. Right click a bridle, or type A moon in the night sky. By night the only light up there used to be the sun under the world, lighting nothing. Now a thin, blue moon rises opposite the sun and casts shadows, and the dark itself glows half as bright again, so nights are easier to see in. Whoever runs a server can set how bright the night and the day are and what colour the sun is, for the whole world or for one zone, and
Water, lava and goo, realistic or classic. The water and lava are now built into the zones themselves, with a new look for lava and goo. A world setting picks the realistic look everywhere or the classic one, and a single pool can be given a look of its own.
Names are read from near by. Names over heads were already hidden by walls but were drawn at any distance. Now they show only within 40 metres by default, and whoever runs a server can change that or set it to any distance. The one you have targeted always keeps its name. Labels over items on the ground no longer show through walls and are read from as near as a name. Clickies that must be worn. Some items now only work while you wear them; any other item with an effect can be used from wherever you carry it. Tooltips now show the effect, whether it must be worn, and its charges. Smaller fixes. Turning the level sixty switch off now clears spells memorised past the cap at once, not at your next login. A spell that ends with a message, such as True North, no longer leaves your bar stuck on 'casting...'. For the people building the world. The art lists in the world editor now open at once instead of waiting nearly a second. A guide to building zones was written: how zones connect, how big to make things, boats, and fifteen steps for one zone. These are tools behind the game, not changes you will see in it. | |
